1960s influenced look

Looking back at the shows both in LFW and NYFW for Autumn Winter 2011 the 1960s influence was much in evidence on the catwalks and the look is prevalent in magazines and stores right now.

This tutorial takes inspiration from that period and is one of my favourite looks. Channelling 1960s models such as Patti Boyd and Penelope Tree the tutorial shows a classic 60s look with painted on lashes. This gives a doll like, glamorous effect on the eyes. One of my personal favourite looks from this era was worn by singer Julie Driscoll whose take on the look was creative and expertly applied.

The look on the eyes can be achieved with light and dark shadows and although simple needs to be done very precisely for it to work.
